Augmented reality seems to infiltrate every tech discussion and even that has been hosted in the past few years. Despite many businesses & individuals adopting it, many people are still unsure about the technology. AR allows virtual elements to appear in the real world where users can interact with it. Think of apps like Pokemon Go & Snapchat. A new line of products is now being launched by Dr. Agostino Sibillo and it is offering military-grade encryption. The new company is a licensee of SpyChatter by Dr. Sibillo and holds several patents already.

SpyChatter’s revolutionary technology gives users the chance to send and receive encrypted messages to specific locations that can only be read by the intended recipients of those messages. The platform has already been implemented in the military where they are integrating AR in their training programs. A new study shows that the total addressable market (TAM) for the US Military using AR will grow to $1.8 billion in 2025. Experts believe that SpyChatter’s technology will account for 10% of that increase. This is equal to $700 million from 2020-2025.

The global AR market is also said to grow exponentially within the next 5 years and it is said that it will reach about $149 billion by 2025. Apart from the US Military, many companies have already integrated AR technology in their businesses and many more will follow suit. AR is used to collect data on individuals to send targeted ads to their specific geographical locations. The possibilities are endless from a retail store that sells clothes to real estate being sold in the same area as the user. Algorithms can even be influenced by temperature. Ever wonder why Coca-Cola is a suggested ad on a warm summer’s day?

SpyChatter also reveals that they have received additional patents that will firmly establish the company’s dominating presence in the AR field. The latest patent allows the company to control the next generation of AR that will facilitate user sharing experience that has never been seen before. AR can be used to send text messages, conduct social activities, and even play online games with friends. Experts believe that companies such as Google Maps, Nintendo, Pokémon GO, Facebook (Oculus Rift), and Apple will all benefit from this technological advancement.

At the moment AR is seen in many of our daily activities. The healthcare sector employed AR technology to help with precise surgical procedures and training of new doctors to minimize risk. On the retail front, many stores are giving their customers the option to try something on in the virtual world before buying it in the real world. Make-up can be mixed on your smartphone to find your perfect shade and furniture can be superimposed in your living room to see if it fits. The limits in the education industry are, of course, endless. Imagine a history student taking a virtual tour through an ancient civilization via AR!
