Natural vision software company, Eyedaptic Inc., announced a joint partnership with Visero today. Visero is a leader assistive technology for the visually impaired. Through this partnership the two companies hope to extend its reach of visually assistive augmented reality devices. The partnership allows the two companies to offer more solutions to the visually impaired to provide broader solutions to this community. The partnership will also assist in building both brands as leaders in the field of optical & visual technology.
According to statistics, over 250 million people are affected by retinal diseases all over the world. Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD) impacts more than 170 million people alone which creates the need for low vision experts to find innovative solutions. Eyedaptic is a software company. Its goal is to develop and market visually assistive AR devices in open market hardware platforms. Their low vision aid is comfortable which helps in enhancing daily living for those with low vision, including those living with AMD. The devices are embedded with simulated natural vision software that contributes to the company’s goal of making the technology accessible to more people.
Eyedaptic & Visero will be present at the CSUN Assistive Technology Conference this year where they will be co-hosting a booth. The conference is set to take place at the Marriott in Anaheim, California from 11 to 13 March. This is the 35th Assistive Technology Conference. It gives researchers, exhibitioners, practitioners, users, and speakers a platform to share their knowledge & experience in the field of assistive technology. The data presented at the 2019 CSUN conference showed how the Eyedaptic glasses improve visual acuity. The tasks of daily living. The data showed that the glasses improved visual acuity by two times along with the completion of daily tasks by five times. Users also noted that the glasses were easy to put on and access. That it had a comfortable fit without causing any irritation or frustration. It was also shown that the glasses can be worn while performing any daily activity without it pinching or sliding down the face. It remained comfortable at all times.
